Frequently Asked Questions
What YerTaxes does, what it costs, and what it keeps.
The basics
What is YerTaxes?
A crypto tax calculation tool. It reads your wallet's on-chain history, combines it with your Coinbase export, works out cost basis lot by lot, and hands you a workbook your accountant can check: P&L by asset, a 1099-B style tab, and a reconciliation against your statements.
Is this tax advice?
No. YerTaxes is a calculator. It does not know your situation, it is not a CPA, and nothing it produces is tax, legal or financial advice. Have a qualified tax professional review the numbers before you file. We provide the data; your advisor provides the judgment.
There are two tools here. Which one do I want?
The wallet analyzer (the home page) takes one public address and gives you every transaction, priced, as a CSV. Use it when you want the raw history.
The Cost Basis Calculator takes your Coinbase CSV, matches withdrawals to your wallets, tracks every lot, and builds the Excel workbook. Use it when you want gains and losses.
Cost Basis Calculator
Upload a Coinbase export, or start from a wallet address. Lots carry from the exchange to the chain and back. FIFO or LIFO, fees three ways, P&L per coin per year, a 1099-B and a ledger check that proves the books balance.
Open the calculator →Wallet Analysis
One address in, every transaction out: swaps, transfers and fees on Solana or BSC with prices at the time, as a CSV. The raw material for the calculator, or a quick look on its own.
Analyze a wallet →How it works
Upload your exchange export, or paste a wallet address.
We read your wallets and match exchange sends to what arrived on chain.
Say what any unknown receipt was: paid, income, your own wallet.
Download the workbook: summary, P&L per coin, 1099-B, ledger check.
What it supports
Which chains?
Solana and Ethereum. Solana wallets can be analyzed on their own or inside the Cost Basis Calculator. Ethereum wallets are read inside the Cost Basis Calculator, alongside your Coinbase data. Robinhood Chain is coming. If your activity is on a chain not listed here, it is not covered yet, and the report will not include it.
Which exchanges?
Coinbase: the transaction CSV, plus monthly statement PDFs for reconciliation. Other exchanges are not supported yet. If you traded somewhere else as well, those trades are not in the report, and your accountant needs to know that.
Which cost basis methods?
FIFO (first in, first out) and LIFO (last in, first out), tracked per lot. There is also Smart Lot Matching (the 90% rule) for day-trading positions. Which method you are allowed to use is a question for your tax professional, not for this tool.
Paying
How do I pay?
In SOL. Either connect a wallet and approve the payment, or use Manual Payment: you are given a one-time address, you send SOL from any wallet or exchange, and you paste the transaction signature. Manual Payment means you never have to connect a wallet at all.
What do credits buy, and do they expire?
Credits cover the transactions a run processes. They are valid for 365 days from purchase. Looking up a single transaction does not use a credit, and neither does counting a wallet's transactions before you run it.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are on-chain and are not refundable. Use Count Txs first to see how big a wallet is, and start with the smallest tier if you are unsure. If a payment went through and you got nothing for it, contact us with the transaction signature.
What is the YER token?
A Solana token that gives tiered access to the tools: holding it grants daily runs and transaction limits without paying per run. That is all it does. It has no intrinsic value, carries no ownership, equity or rights, and is not an investment product. Its price can go to zero.
I can pay without connecting a wallet. Is connecting safe?
Connecting only proves an address is yours, by signing a message. It moves nothing. A payment is a separate step that your wallet shows you and you approve. We never ask for a seed phrase or a private key, and nobody who does is us.
Your data
Do you keep my files?
Your Coinbase CSV and statement PDFs are not kept. They are read in the server's memory for your session and dropped when it ends, at most three hours after you last touched it. A statement PDF is written to a temporary file for the moment it is being read, and deleted straight after. The Excel workbook is built in memory and sent to you.
Wallet analyzer results are kept for about 30 days so you can download them again from My Jobs, then removed by an automatic clean-up. They contain the public transactions of the address you analyzed.
The whole list is in the Privacy Policy.
Does anyone else see my statements?
Usually not: statements are read by code on our server. If that reader cannot make sense of a statement, the text of it may be sent to Anthropic's API so a model can pick out the balances. That text includes your balances and may include your name as it appears on the statement. If you would rather that never happen, skip the statement upload; reconciliation is optional.
Do you need my private keys?
Never. The tool reads public addresses. It cannot move funds and has no reason to ask for a key or a seed phrase.
The numbers
How accurate is it?
Lots are tracked at 16-decimal precision, prices come from Birdeye and other public sources, and every figure in the workbook is a formula you can trace back to its source row. What can still be wrong: a thinly traded token may have no price for a given day, an unusual transaction may be classified wrongly, and anything outside the supported chains and exchanges is simply missing. Check the reconciliation tab, and verify before you file.
Can my CPA use the workbook?
Yes, it is built for that. Values are formula-linked rather than typed in, with separate tabs for raw transactions, P&L per asset per year, a 1099-B format, transfers between exchange and wallet, and reconciliation against statement balances.
What if a token has no price?
Thinly traded tokens sometimes have no price on record for a given day. We do not make one up. Look through the export for rows without a value; you or your accountant will need to supply a price for those. A missing number is safer than a wrong one.
Something looks wrong. What do I do?
Copy the log from the output box and the Job ID, and contact us. Do not send private keys, seed phrases or full statements.
